Biotechnology is one of the most promising industries of the 21st century. However, success does not come by itself. Biotechnology will, more than ever before, be shaped by increased competition for funds, expertise to manage R&D risk, pharmacoeconomics, and emerging opportunities in personalized medicine. Future biotech leaders must be able to navigate with confidence through an increasingly complex business environment.
IE´s Master in Biotechnology Management has been designed to provide admitted participants with the skills and techniques necessary to face current and future challenges, and to excel in a very demanding industry. This innovative 13-months long program combines the fundamentals of a top Executive MBA education with the specific industry knowledge necessary to pursue any career within biotechnology and related industries (e.g., venture capital, consulting, healthcare, legal practice, public institutions).

The blended methodology reflects today´s international business environment, where cross-cultural and cross-functional teams work on global projects regardless of their geographic location. Participants do not have to leave their residence or work for extended periods of time to pursue a top learning experience.
The virtual campus, active 24 hour per day, and the case method are the fundamental points of reference for the online activities promoting intense interaction and debate with peers and professors, creating strong and lasting relationships.
CloseLasting 13 months and starting in October, the program is based on two online interactive periods and three face-to-face periods, each lasting between one and two weeks, providing you with a deep understanding of business and management and a specialized view in biotechnology.
The three face-to-face periods are be held at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the program. Two face-to-face periods are hosted in IE Madrid urban campus and one in Boston, home to the largest concentration of biotech, pharma and related companies in the world.
The week in Boston allow participants to visit some of the most innovative and renowned biotech companies worldwide, such us the Genzyme Center Corporate Headquarters, Novartis, Infinity Pharmaceuticals, and Progenika. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to interact with top industry leaders throughout the Master program, who share their real-world experiences, knowledge, and expertise, keeping students up to date with the latest industry developments and providing them with a broad networking base.

To be considered for admission, a candidate must have successfully completed the following prior to submission:
•Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of professional post‐graduate experience.
• Admission process: application form, admission test (GMAT 600 or IE admission test) and interview.
•Non‐native speakers are required to provide an English language certificate (TOEFL, Pearson PTE Academic, IELTS or Cambridge CAE/CPE).
•Certain requirements may be waived in the case of candidates with outstanding professional experience.
The demanding nature of the Master in Biotechnology Management means that the large number of applications are subject to a rigorous selection process. The main objective of the admissions process is to select students with high potential to over perform in the market.

CloseThe tuition fees for the Fall 2012 intake of the Master in Biotechnology Management total €29,200. Fees include:
Candidates pay a non-refundable application fee of €120 to cover administrative costs. Fees do not include any travel or living expenses.
Admission is valid for two intakes from the date of admission, allowing the successful applicant to plan their learning experience.

University Diploma
Those students in possession of an official university diploma, or with an equivalent official diploma that allows access to post-graduate studies in the country of your university studies, will be awarded an Official University Master in Management from IE University.
