Rubén Henriquez, holds a Degree in Chemistry from Complutense University (Madrid) and a Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology from Rockefeller University (New York), and is currently CEO of Apoteknos SL (Madrid, Spain), a recently created biopharma company, developing novel products for the treatment and prevention of dermatological ailments.
His recent professional experiences include the position of Director of Competitive Intelligence at Neuropharma (Madrid) and Director of Corporate Strategy at PharmaMar (Madrid). In both positions he had extensive experience in transmitting business and scientific knowledge to non scientific personnel and external stakeholders.
Previously, he had been involved in R&D, as the Head of Research Laboratory at Novartis Pharma (Basel, Switzerland) and as an investigator and instructor at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel.
Ruben has published a number of articles, meeting abstracts and patents in the area of biological and pharmaceutical research.

The Master in Biotechnology Management's core faculty of full-time professors are complimented by a number of part-time professors. The full-time tutors combine their teaching work with research projects in a variety of areas, whilst the part-time professors pursue successful careers alongside their teaching activities, occupying prominent positions in representative and prestigious companies in the biotechnology sector.
Thanks to this arrangement, the program combines a proximity to the industry with contents that are constantly updated and include the latest and most relevant topics and issues in the biotech sector, from both an academic and a business perspective.
Throughout the program various different conferences are offered; these conferences are led by important professionals in the biotechnology sector, who will transmit a direct and up-to-date vision of the industry and its current issues.
The majority of the Master in Biotechnology Management faculty comes from outside Spain, with a host of nationalities represented. Virtually all have studied or worked abroad and have graduated from prestigious international academic institutions.
In addition to our permanent faculty, each year, IE invites a number of carefully selected visiting professors from prestigious institutions around the world. We also draw on external consultants with specialized knowledge to ensure that IE's teaching experience is second-to-none.

The Master in Biotechnology Management is aimed at professionals who want to enhance their opportunities within the biotechnology industry or who are coming from other industries and seeking a career change into the biotechnology sector. It is also designed for participants who are unable or unwilling to leave their place of residence and work for extended periods of time.
The online format allows students from anywhere in the world and with any working timetable or travelling requirements to attend the Master in Biotechnology Management. Based on the case method, it allows the participant to adopt a proactive attitude, thanks to a highly motivating methodology that ensures intensive communication, enthusiasm, interest, and commitment at every stage.
In order to evaluate each candidature more thoroughly, the Admissions Committee may require the GMAT/GRE/ IE Admissions Test and/or the TOEFL examination.
